Ma'eMa'e Family Night
May 5
We helped with rides, games and other activities at Mae Mae Elementary School's Family Night.
"It was so much fun helping in the face painting booth! We painted different designs/pictures for the children and it was nice to see how much fun they were having. Ma’ema’e Family Night was also a great way to meet new people from the different clubs!"

"I spent the afternoon reorganizing items in the bargain bin as well as help Saint Louis put fish in cups for a game. I thought that it was really fun watching the kids play and trying to catch the fish from the bin to put in the cups."

"At Ma’ema’e Family Night we heated the tables at the bargain bin but were also able to walk around the school. The environment was very lively and was fun to participate in. I also got to see old friends which was definitely a plus."

Hawaii Book and music Festival
May 7
We helped survey visitors about their festival experience, in addition to keeping the grounds safe and clean. We also helped out as ushers in the auditorium, helping guests to find their seats.
This event was really fun to experience since it was such a huge event that I would have had no idea happened if it weren’t for KEY club. It was fun to see all the people turn out for this large community event. Helping clean up and give surveys to people were fun too. Getting to interact with the community is always a great experience and I can’t wait ’til next year!

Humane Society Paper Shredding
May 15
After our general meeting many stayed after to shred paper to be used at the Humane Society.
"This event was really fun and easy since it was right after our general meeting. We shredded paper, talked to friends, and listened to music. This project was a great way to relieve stress after a long day of school."

Family Sunday
May 21
This month the focus was on wheels so outside kids rode bikes and inside we helped make cool drawings with markers, watercolor paper and centrifuges. We also helped out in the cafe as usual.
"Over the course of this year, I have grown to love the Family Sunday event. I love volunteering with one of my favorite organizations, and I have had so much fun working in the café, and helping out with the kids’ crafts. I highly recommend trying this event at least once!"
